"...employers will be held to a high standard when alcohol is being
served in the workplace. Especially during the holiday season, employers
should recognize that:
- Providing alcohol (particularly self-service) is risky;
- They must monitor consumption and best practices would dictate limiting consumption;
- Anyone in a responsible position (supervisors and above) should not be consuming alcohol at the party;
- A plan must be developed before the event about how employees and
others will get home safely and such plan should include the provision
of transportation (for example – taxis)."

Congratulations to the Canadian Kennel Club for celebrating their 125th anniversary! We attended their celebratory open house last week and really enjoyed hearing truly inspirational stories of some long-service employees. CKC has one of the longest-tenured averages amongst their employee base that we've come across. |

We attended the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce's popular Mayor's Luncheon yesterday. It was wonderful to meet so many other business owners and operators. The event was well-attended with over 150 members participating. |
